Each year, I find myself wanting to eat more fresh fruits and vegetables once it gets warm outside. I’m not sure if it is because many fruits and vegetables are ripe during the summer, or if it is just because I don’t want to cook, but any way I can eat something fresh, I will! However, when it comes to fruits like grapefruit and kiwi, they often end up in the bottom of the fruit drawer, uneaten, because eating grapefruit or kiwi the same way each time can get boring. So, I’ve put together a list for you of ways that you can use kiwi and grapefruit that are outside the spoon.
Creative Uses for Grapefruit

I’m going to try it the next time I prepare fish. Grapefruit Curd This is a sort of grapefruit sauce-jelly hybrid that I bet would be delicious on toast or even on a cake or cookies. Grapefruit Guacamole Making homemade guacamole is also one of my favorite things to do (as a Texas resident, it is a necessity), so I am really looking forward to trying this version with grapefruit. Kale and Grapefruit Salad This looks like one of the tastiest salads I have ever seen. Celery and Grapefruit Salad If you let your fridge get to the bottom of the barrel like I often do before shopping again, you are probably left with a grapefruit, a stalk of celery, and a block of cheese. Combine the three for a surprisingly delicious salad!
