The Herbarium is a virtual gathering place in which anyone can become a member and learn all about herbs in a warm, comfortable environment. Their digital walls contain a catalogued wealth of knowledge and invaluable information for members.
Members are privy to their ever-expanding library of plant monographs, photographs, articles, podcasts, videos, tutorials, and charts. All their information is based on carefully gathered research that is credible including the wisdom of many contributing herbalists.
The Herbal Academy of New England is the brainstorm behind The Herbarium. This is a dedicated, diverse group of herbalists who came together to create herbal educational programs to help others learn about the incredible plant world. These individuals travel across the country and the world to increase their knowledge base, attend lectures, and to share their knowledge with others. These ambitious herbalists bring their experiences and knowledge to The Herbarium so that everyone benefits.
There is a database of monographs that has been designed for easy reference. Herbs can be searched either by name, their actions, taste, or by the various ways to use them. This is extremely unique as I have never seen this anywhere else. If you want to know what herbs are anti-inflammatory, you find out in one click.
Each monograph comes with quick facts, detailed information on the medicinal use, multiple images, and scientific research.
This is a work-in-progress and there will always be new monographs every month to look forward to.
Should there be new information that comes their way about a specific herb; The Herbarium will update the data so their members will always have the most up-to-date research possible.
The Herb Library
This section has several resources of in-depth information, including articles, papers, videos, and podcasts. It too will grow over time with new videos, new articles and other information so that members will always have something to peruse through and learn.
The Library also includes downloadable and printable charts, bookmarks, graphs and much more.
Articles in the library are written by folk herbalists and other professionals so that the information is guaranteed to be credible and trustworthy.
The Herbalist Forum
There is a forum section in The Herbarium in which everyone can participate by either starting a topic conversation or chime in on existing conversations. This is an excellent opportunity to ask questions and get some new recipe ideas. Sharing of information is important and the forum is a fabulous interactive place to share and to learn.
An Herbarium Membership has Advantages
What I think is a real bonus to having a membership is that those who want to become an online student in one of the Herbal Academy of New England’s courses will receive 10 percent off their courses.
There is not a doubt that The Herbarium is a user-friendly website that is easy to navigate and is not cluttered. Everything is spaced out nicely which makes being there much more relaxing. I find ‘cluttered’ or overly-busy websites are chaotic and there is not a doubt that The Herbarium has an aura of calm making the member experience quite enjoyable.
