It happens to all of us. The water gets turned off for a couple of hours, or days, and we’re left wondering how long it will last and where we’ll get drinking water. This can be especially frightening during a winter storm or other natural disaster when getting to the store to buy water isn’t possible. Of course the best advice we can give is to have some water set aside for emergencies, but if that runs out, or you don’t have stored water, how do you get drinkable water in an emergency?
In this video we’ll cover some basic tips for decontaminating water by filtering, boiling and distilling. We’ll also talk about using bleach for those crazy emergencies where other options aren’t available.

I know people who store 20-30 emtpied and washed out soda bottles pull of water in their lower kitchen cabinets and have a Berkey water filter on the counter to filter that water when they need it. When I saw their system I was blown away by how simple it was!
