Megan from My Food Storage Cookbook is passionate about teaching more people about Wonder Ovens. She uses them frequently to conserve fuel and time for cooking. I personally am amazed at all that she cooks and does with what looks like a bean bag. The Wonder Oven keeps frozen things frozen or boiling water at the same temperature for 12 – 18 hours.
The Provident Prepper: a common-sense guide to preparing for emergencies
by Kylene & Jonathan Jones
No one knows when a storm will hit or an economic disaster take place. Protect your family by being prepared for things like earthquakes, hurricanes, tornados, and civil unrest. The Provident Prepper is an easy-to-use guide without doom and gloom.
Listen to hear how Megan uses her Wonder Oven in every day life like she would use a crockpot to make bread, muffins, lasagna, yogurt – even cook meat. The great thing is that she is not using electricity to run it for hours; you only have to use fuel to heat to temperature and that’s it. It is useful for simple things like keeping ice cream cold or keeping a supper warm for on the go to avoid eating out. It could be life saving in a survival situation since you could heat a pot of water and keep it warm all day or all night without having to use more fuel to heat it up again.
There is a pattern for a Wonder Oven at I Will Prepare. Due to the angles being confusing to translate from online to paper Megan has made a generous offer to mail a paper pattern for free to those who are interested. She gives her email in the podcast.
Megan mentions that a Bain Marie Pot works well in Wonder Ovens. You can purchase one at a restaurant supply store or through Amazon.
