It may shock you to know that according to FEMA fewer than 50% of Americans have not created a family emergency plan in case of natural disaster! If you live in an area known for natural disasters this may seem crazy. I know it does to me! Here at MomPrepares we are constantly talking about being prepared for anything… storms and disasters, economic hard times, roadside car issues, etc. It’s so important and helpful to have a plan in place BEFORE something bad happens.

Mountain House 72 Hour Kit – $39.36
When you’re forced to leave your home or you’re stranded for more than a few hours food could be a problem. Having some quality freeze dried food in your bug-out bag will come in handy.
Mountain House is the brand we like and my brother in-law even likes it enough that he uses it for his camping trips!
Essentials First Aid Kit
If you don’t have a basic first-aid kit in your car, get one. I can’t count the number of times we’ve used ours while camping, mowing, or hiking, never mind disaster or emergency situations. Having what you need, when and where you need it, is always a good thing.
If you’d rather, you can always Create a Customized First Aid Kit for Home or On-The-Go using exactly what your family is likely to need.
LifeStraw Personal Water Filter – $20.95
I don’t care what kind of situation you find yourself in, you’re going to need fresh drinking water.
Carrying water with you can be very inconvenient. That’s why I like the idea of the LifeStraw Personal Water Filter! This thing eliminates almost all waterborne bacteria and parasites and allows you to drink water from almost any source.
Total for all that? $98.14 (pre-tax) – totally doable with this gift card!
