What could be sweeter than a Homemade Honey Shower Soap with Homemade Castile Soap, Coconut oil and pure raw honey?
This is a wonderfully moisturizing body wash and it’s even gentle enough to use on your face.! BONUS!
Let’s look at the ingredients we’ll be using:
Honey: Honey is just plain amazing! Honey helps your skin retain moisture and elasticity without drying it out. Honey is also perfect for mature, dry, itchy or damaged skin. It also helps speed the healing of blemished skin.
Liquid Castile Soap: Using pure liquid castile soap will ensure that we get some suds action in our body wash. And we don’t need those chemicals to do it. You can find a tutorial on how to make your own Liquid Castile Soap HERE.
Almond Oil/Jojoba Oil:Almonds have a way of trapping moisture in the skin keeping it moisturized at all times. This oil has also been proven to have a calming effect on people with skin allergies and inflammation. Almond oil also contain vitamins that help it delay the appearance of wrinkles. Jojoba’s anti-inflammatory properties makes it ideal for reducing painful swelling and redness. Jojoba oil is so similar to the natural oils that our bodies produce on a regular basis, it’s particularly effective as a moisturizer. It’s easily absorbed and leaves the skin feeling soft and supple.
Vitamin E: Vitamin E is an antioxidant that protects and repairs your skin. Vitamin E is one of the most powerful antioxidants, but your body can’t produce it, which means you have to make sure you’re getting enough of this valuable nutrient in your diet, and while were at it…on our skin! Getting enough Vitamin E in our bodies can help prevent premature aging of the skin and damage to our DNA.
Essential Oils: I used Lavender and Rosemary in my Shower Soap…but Orange or any citrus would be great too!
Lavender’s nourishing and therapeutic properties extend to inhibiting bacteria. It’s astringent properties also help normalize oil production. Lavender oil’s natural soothing properties and ability to reduce inflammation allow it to treat skin redness. Aggravated skin caused by stress can be calmed by lavender, as it also has stress-relieving properties.
Rosemary contains naturally powerful antioxidants, it strengthens the capillaries and helps to slow the effects of aging on skin. It also tightens sagging and loose skin to help it look firmer and more elastic. Additionally, rosemary stimulates cell growth to reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
