Make Your Own Heat Pack
When I was little I suffered a lot from ear aches. When I’d complain about my ears hurting mom would pour a cupful of rice in a sock and warm it on a baking sheet in the oven. When it was good and warm she’d pull it out, tie off the sock with a rubberband, then wrap the whole thing in a pretty fabric. I remember these little heat packs being soft and comforting and something we could reuse.

Freezing water in a bag or container works, but it’s not flexible or comfortable. If you don’t have one of those fancy rubbery bags with a screw on lid that you can put ice and water in, these DIY Ice Packs will do the trick!
