
Safe drinking water is something preppers talk about a lot. There are many styles of filters and of course water can be boiled for sterilization, but what if you don’t have a filter and your only available water is dirty? Distilling water removes the minerals leaving you with clean, safe drinking water.

Distilled water has many other uses as well. Perhaps you have a fish tank that you buy distilled water for? Or, you use it in your iron to keep minerals from clogging the steam ducts… I’ve even heard people suggest you make your iced tea with distilled water as the minerals in well or city water can make your iced tea cloudy. Whatever the use, you can make your own.
Since distilling involves boiling the water and catching the steam which condenses on a cover and drips back down into a bowl or other container the process can take a while. But, it’s one you should know how to accomplish!

Gosh! It would take FOREVER to make enough distilled water for anything at the rate of 1/2 spoonful and hr.
