Shelf Life: 1 year
Benefits: The alcohol in the vodka disinfects and cuts through dirt, mildew, and soap scum. The essential oils all have antibacterial, antimicrobial, and antiseptic properties.
Tips and Tricks: Don’t worry about spending money on good quality vodka—the cheapest, bottom shelf variety works just as well here.
And don’t worry—your house isn’t going to smell like the morning after a wild party. The vodka odor disappears as it dries, and you’ll be left with the scent from the essential oils.
Variations: We used tea tree, lemon, and peppermint for their disinfecting abilities. Other great essential oils to use include eucalyptus, orange, clove, cinnamon, and pine.
